  1. Measure and mix your dry ingredients.
  2. Turn on your waffle maker to the medium setting to warm up.
  3. Measure and mix your wet ingredients and then add the dry and wet together.
  4. You don’t need to oil your waffle iron – just add your first 1/2-3/4 cup of batter. You can sprinkle fresh herbs on top of the batter if you’re using those.
  5. The nifty waffle maker will beep at you when the waffles are done – it’s very easy. Sometimes part way through I turn the waffle maker up one notch to make the waffle extra crispy.
Recipe Notes

I love finely chopping about 1/4 cup green onion (1 green onion), 1/4 cup cilantro and 1 sprig of tarragon and sprinkling the fresh herb mix on top of each waffle. This add lovely bites of flavor and the waffles look so fresh and pretty! Other fun fresh foods to add are olives, fennel seeds, flax seeds or turmeric. You can experiment with how much of each ingredient you like best. My kids prefer them PLAIN for PB&J sandwiches and I omit the garlic powder in some batches to use as neutral sandwich bread.
